OK - what's the use of having a blog if I don't use it to hold myself accountable. So I'm putting down my goals for 2010.... Because I have a history of not reaching the goals I set and then getting very discouraged, I'm going to try setting some goals that I know I can reach but that will still take effort and planning!
Probably the biggest and most challenging goal for this year is to get in better shape. Pretty vague... well this idea from Oh She Glows has a great deal of potential. However, I will make my "bucket" list be specific to the goals I want to reach before 2010 kicks the bucket....
This isn't my bucket list - there is no way I could run a marathon this year... But it gives the idea of what it looks like.
FITNESS 2010
- Follow the WW points system, attain lifetime membership by reaching goal weight and maintaining it. (148 lbs, only 8 more to go, but they are being awfully stubborn!)
- 30 min Cardio workout at least 3 times a week... make a plan, follow it, write it down
- 2 Strength Training sessions and/or yoga workouts a week.... Use the Wii, after all I bought it and don't want to waste it the way so many exercise purchases are wasted...
- Eat In... This ties into Personal Progress goals later... One meal a week is take out or restaurant. Unless special occasion - Valentines day is a definite night out!
- climb to Goldbug and keep up with and not slow down the group. I'd like to achieve this by the end of April so I can still enjoy the hot springs in the cold weather.
- Include abs and arms toning in workouts
For motivation, I have found Monica's blog to help. Not only is she focused on getting healthy in a realistic way, but she's my niece and I love the way she writes! If anyone comes across any others that would be helpful motivators let me know!
SCRAPBOOKING 2010
- Complete at least one Digital page a week
- Complete the classes found here... Jessica Sprague, especially the Organizing, brushes, and digi - 1,2,3
- Organize my digital library so it is functional and easy to work with
- Organize digital photos as they are downloaded
- Be a much more active member of the Best Scrapbooking Community EVER! I love these girls and they are not only my scrapping friends but my "turn to for anything" friends. Such a great place to hang out and not get lost in the "crowds"...
- Clean out and sell most traditional scrapping supplies - I'm addicted to the mobility and "mess free" digital way and see myself only reaching for paper on a special occasion.
- Find a local group of gals that would like to meet once a month and share this craft adventure together. Even if I am the one to get it started.
PERSONAL 2010
- Put together a financial plan, reduce personal debt, plan monthly expenses, save.
- Save for large purchases - no credit card charges. AT ALL!
- Cook at least 2 new dinners a month. I am really started to enjoy cooking and finding healthy eat-in meals. The mandoline above is one of my many favorite gifts from K this year..
- Plan weekly menus and shopping lists.
- Blog once a week!
- Limit TV time... Choose 4 shows and use the DVR to watch without commercials.
- Complete family room, bedroom, bathroom and storage areas of the basement
- Have a weekly housecleaning plan and stick to it.... I'm so bad at this!
- Find time to myself - at least twice a month - learn to enjoy "me" time. Allow K the same privilege...
I know I could keep going and going and going... but perhaps I'll start here and review every month and update as the year goes on....
Anyone who has ideas or comments on how they work everything in and still find time to relax.. I want to know!

Whew!! That's a lot Mel! You're off to a good start just writing them down and blogging! I need to update mine...
ReplyDeleteOh! I like the basic ideas from www.flylady.net I use her zones and cleaning lists. I don't follow the plan to a T since I do have to work too. ;)
Oh I love you! You're so great and this is such a great way to better yourself for the new year! I am right on board with you and jumping back on the healthy wagon! I want to have a baby this year so it's even more important that I get serious again! Keep it up! You look great already though! Love you!
