What's it all about....?

I am going to jump right in and make this work.  However, I need to establish "why" so I can stay on target and accomplish the goals that led to this in the first place.

So let's start with my goals:
  • I hope to put my thoughts and ideas onto something permanent and be able to refer back to them as inspiration and reflection
  • I hope to make my scrapbooking better by recording the stories of my photos while they are still fresh in my memory and meaningful to me.
  • I hope to make new friends and discover a world outside my own box
  • I hope to learn to use technology as a tool to enhance my life and to not be afraid of it
  • I hope to look forward and see new opportunities for taking pictures and documenting even the little things in life
  • I hope to use this as a tool to keep my family and friends closer to me and my family

Some of you might think that I made up the title of my blog...Melanizing....  I did not.  It is a real word and I have latched onto it because it means two things to me:
It is a play on my name - which by the way, I really love...   And it literally means creating or turning things into black.  My twist on this is that I want to turn my thoughts into a permanent record - whether just for me or for others to visit and hopefully gain something from too...

I am going to try to stay fairly regular with my postings...  After all - I do have thoughts and ideas every day.  It makes me sad to think of all the "great" ideas I've had over my life, but I just can't remember them...  I'm sure one of them was the key to my future fortune.. lol!

I am just learning and I am taking a class (Blogging for Scrapbookers)  so if anyone can jump in and help  - I am so grateful...

I am now off to figure out how to add photos and links...  Add some spice to this venture!

  2. Your blog is looking great Mel and if I could offer one piece of advise it would be to look into using Windows Live Writer to write yours posts and organise your photos. I'm still in the learning stage with it but so far so good.

  3. thanks for the comment, I used some digi stamps which I printed out and coloured and then made the cards in the normal way. Hope that explains things.
